Well, no not really XD

Today was really fun! Omg, Ashley gave me my first wushu (kung fu) lesson today! *DIES*

Seriously, it was SO much fun... but so hard... >_>;;

I dunno why, but I expected to be able to pick it up really quickly (because I do Tai Chi?) but honestly, it was difficult >_o;; Man, those stances are hard! They require the utmost flexibility and balance @___@;;

Ashley made me do these killer stretches before we started... and, let's just say that I need to stretch more often >_<;;;

But even stretching didn't help me with the stances... the horse stance was my worst, I think... I was okay at the bow stance, the drop stance and the cross sitting stance... but god DAMN that horse stance >_>;;

HORSE STANCE!
Horse Stance

O_O;; It's soooo hard! >_<;;

Cross Sitting/Lotus Stance:

Those ones are MUCH easier, mostly because they're all found in Tai chi, and I can do them pretty well XP

But yeah, the images were for those of you going "WTF?!" XP;;

ANYWAYS.

So, Ashley and I are practising forms, right? Then this guy comes in and asks to share the room with us. He was hot, so we said yes >D ~ He was just in the corner using the punching bag, so it wasn't distracting or nothing XP

But yeah, he's apparently a kick ass Muay Thai fighter. Like, OHMYGOD. He was so good! We felt so intimidated w/ him in the room, so we kept on messing up our forms XD ~ Well, I messed up because I sucked, soooo... ^_^; ~ While he was watching Ashley didn't want to demo any forms for me, and I sure as hell didn't want him to see how bad I was at Wushu, so instead I tried to teach Ashley a bit of Tai Chi. It didn't work so well lol, I mostly ended up demoing forms for her ^_^; ~ But yeah... she's such a spitfire! Wushu is perfect for her; it's dynamic, energetic and just powerful. Tai chi suits me better because I tend to be laid back/easy-going and I dunno, I prefer the movements. They're graceful and extemely centred/grounded. When Ashley tried the tai chi forms, she ended up being too jerky and putting too much power into it, but when I was doing wushu, I didn't put enough power into it. And for some reason I couldn't make myself punch O_o;;

In tai chi, you use the technique of pushing and pulling when you fight. You pull your opponent into you (conform around their movement), then step into their centre of balance (disrupting their chi-flow), and then push them away from you using their momentum and power against them. Well, when pushing you generally use an open hand XP So, in short, I'm not used to making a fist lol

As I was doing the parts where I was supposed to thrust my fist forward, instead my arm would just smoothly straighten into a palm thrust >_<;; lol

Ashley: OKAY. NOW PUNCH.

Yue: *graceful palm movement*

Ashley: I SAID PUNCH DAMNIT!

Yue: *even more graceful palm movement*

Ashley: PUNCH! LIKE A MAN, IF YOU PLEASE!

Yue: T_T

Yeah. I fail so hard at punching.

ANYWAY. (yay for random side-trips >_O)

After a while we talked, and apparently he was watching us too. He and Ashley went on this tirade about Pan American tournaments, and training, and what-have-you, and then he turns to me and goes:

"Y'know, my dad's a tai chi instructor, he's been teaching for years. I was watching your forms, and you're really good. Where'd you learn."

Me: *WTFBLUSH* "Er... a book?"

Him: O_O!? "REALLY? Whoa... you are really good!"

Me: *DYING OF BLUSH*

XDD;

So, that was my confidence boost for the month XD

We talked a bit more, introduced ourselves (though I forgot his name ^^;; ) ~ And then he's like "I'm a personal trainer here (at the athletic building) so if you guys want to just come around and work out, that's cool. Or we could train if you like" ~ and we're like "yay!" XD

he was a nice guy... with a hot ass, but ANYWAY...

When he left, ashley and I totally squeed to eachother LMAO! I think he likes Ashley though, and told her as much. So, hopefully we'll see him around more and we can get them together >DDD

*EVIL MATCHMAKER YUE*

But yeah, he was damn fine XDDD

So, today proved to be great. Now, I'm totally inspired to continue my training in Tai Chi (i haven't worked at it for close to a year O_O;; ) as well as continue with Wushu. Though it's hard, it's also alot of fun. And even though I prefer Tai Chi (and always will), Wushu is good exercise, so if nothing else it'll keep me fit ^_^

TOMORROW IS YOGA!

*GRINS*

I'm so excited! Wednesday and Thursday are my new work out days! I've never been so excited to work out in my life! O_o WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME!?

XD

Did you look to see if the creator had any more icons of Artem?

And did you also see the Artem screencaps that I commented with a couple entries back?

That horse stance looks like death. O_o And you *are* good! You should totally keep practising Tai Chi, maybe even convince your parents to let you have formal teaching. I hope it goes well with you! *hugs*

Horse stance! I remember horse stance - I took whatever dvision of karate was being taught in Tottenham, and I took it for all of 8 months, but horse stance was a bitch when the sensei was all 'bend your knees - keep bending them!'. Good for your legs, though.
The other stances look so graceful, though, and even involve your arms! *_*
Oh, I have to start moving around, now.

Tai Chiiiiiiiii XD I took that. But it was last period and the teacher projected such a soothing aura that I'd keep falling asleep. Yes, even while doing the forms! I think I did fairly well, though, all things considering. Got an A and all that.

Hey, Drop stance is an exercise we do for fencing, kinda. XD I'll have to show you the exercise when I see you.

MATCHERMAKER MATCHMAKER MAKE YOU SOME MATCHES! XD
