And the Sun comes out... also, piccie of ME! lol
I had a good day today! I met up with Erica (after almost an entire year) ~ we went mall-crawling, and saw Dave Chappelle's Block Party! It was AMAZING! Just...guh! Honestly? I'm not a fan of hip-hop music. It's far too commercialized and pointless to catch my attention, but the artists featured in this film were exactly that: ARTISTS.
So. Fucking. Brilliant.
Humour, great music, and an political undercurrent! The direction was brilliant! The scene transitions were flawless, and the moments captured were PERFECT. In short - far more than I expected.
On the surface, it's just a concert movie. But if you look at it closely, you'll see so much MORE. ~ Gah.
Anyway, we got out of the theatre at 9:30, and decided to grab a quick bite to eat before going home. We talked for 2 and 1/2 hours. About the movie, and the politics involved - to politics in general - to philosophy, and human nature and the way our society is today - about books, and music, and everything.
It was so great. I haven't had a conversation like that in close to a year. SUCH. A. GOOD. TIME.
Gah.
Made the last few weeks completely dissappear! XD
Neways, it's 2:05am now, and I'm pretty tired >_<; ~ i wish I could be more elaborate about everything, but, well... you know *collapses*
Oh! And btw! I found this in my email when I got home lol! My Uncle sent it to me ~ it's a picture taken of me a few months ago! XD I just added some text, and decided it made a fun ID for my DeviantArt page ~ :P Sooooo, if you wanna see what I look like (or for those who do know, what I look like now XD) ~ then click on the link. Oh, and btw - my hair is much longer now... my bangs reach my chin :D This piccie was taken a few months ago, so my hair is pretty short there :P But I liked it, so I used it. Whatever. XD
